Mike E. Corradini, the Asylum Advocacy Associate at Physicians for Human Rights will speak at the opening session of the Immigration Justice Conference on March 3, 2012. He will also be on hand at the Immigration & Politics session later in the day.

Based in PHR’s Washington, DC office, Mike works with PHR’s Asylum Program and policy team to develop and advocate for changes to asylum law and the immigration detention system. Prior to joining PHR, Mike worked with immigration detainees as an attorney at the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project in Los Angeles. At Esperanza, he taught immigration detainees about their legal rights, represented numerous detained immigrants in removal proceedings, and worked closely with the large population of detained East African asylum seekers in Southern California.
